Rocket propulsion laboratory is researching high-performance, cutting-edge rocket propulsion engine combustion technology needed for space launch vehicles, satellites, and missiles. We are conducting high-resolution numerical simulation research on turbulent combustion to predict combustion instability necessary for the development of high-performance liquid rocket engines, and research on fuel injection characteristics and nozzle design is underway based on atomization research through multi-phase flow analysis. In addition, research is being conducted on scramjet combustors, which are hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems, and detonation combustors as a next-generation propulsion technology with high specific impulse. The above studies are trying to create synergies by conducting numerical simulations and experimental research together, and are being conducted in cooperation and linkage with various research institutes at home and abroad, providing various research opportunities to graduate students.
